ABOUT US
The Trichy Press Club, officially known as the Indian Press Club – Trichy District, is a prominent media association based in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Established to serve the interests of journalists and media professionals in the region, the club plays a vital role in promoting press freedom, supporting journalistic ethics, and fostering professional development.
In May 2023, the club appointed Na. Balasubramanian as its new district president, succeeding Dr. R. Samthivakar. This leadership transition marked a significant step in the club’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its organizational framework and enhance its service to the media community .

RADIO BROADCASTING
All India Radio (AIR): The first radio transmission station in Tiruchirappalli was inaugurated by AIR on 16 May 1939. In 2006, AIR introduced direct-to-home enabled radio broadcasting services.

Television Services: Television broadcasting commenced from Chennai on 15 August 1975.Satellite television channels became available in the region in 1991.
