Trichy press club
The Trichy Press Club, officially known as the Indian Press Club – Trichy District, is a prominent media association based in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Established to serve the interests of journalists and media professionals in the region, the club plays a vital role in promoting press freedom, supporting journalistic ethics, and fostering professional development.
In May 2023, the club appointed Na. Balasubramanian as its new district president, succeeding Dr. R. Samthivakar. This leadership transition marked a significant step in the club’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its organizational framework and enhance its service to the media community .
The club’s headquarters are situated at the Trichy Press Club Land, a site allocated by the state government to its members. This location serves as a hub for various activities, including press meets, workshops, and discussions on media-related issues .

print media
Tiruchirappalli boasts a vibrant print media scene, with over 100 newspapers registered as of November 2013. The city's print media landscape includes: English Newspapers: The Hindu launched its Trichy edition in 2004, followed by The New Indian Express. Tamil Newspapers: Prominent Tamil dailies such as Dina Thanthi, Dina Mani, Dina Malar, Malai Malar, Dinakaran, Tamil Murasu, and Tamil Sudar have editions in Trichy. Additionally, the popular Tamil weekly Ananda Vikatan introduced a local supplement for Trichy in 2011.

Radio Broadcasting
All India Radio (AIR): The first radio transmission station in Tiruchirappalli was inaugurated by AIR on 16 May 1939. In 2006, AIR introduced direct-to-home enabled radio broadcasting services. The station launched Ragam, a separate Carnatic music station, in 2007. AIR also initiated community radio services, with Holy Cross College starting its campus community radio station on 22 December 2006. Private FM Stations: Private FM radio stations such as Hello FM, Suryan FM, and Mirchi 95.0 operate in Tiruchirappalli, offering a mix of music, news, and entertainment. Community Radio: Indira Gandhi National Open University's Gyan Vani began broadcasting from the city in 2008, focusing on educational content

Television Broadcasting
Television Services: Television broadcasting commenced from Chennai on 15 August 1975. Satellite television channels became available in the region in 1991. Direct-to-home cable television services are provided by DD Direct Plus and various other operators.
